We had Thanksgiving with some of my husband's family for the first time in 25 years--we have never lived close enough to any of his family to go for holidays, until recently. Thankful for his sake that he gets his turn for a change. He's a good man and has never complained, but I know it meant a lot to him.

This year I'm thankful that I live two hours away from my family and not further away. Two hours is close enough that I can make a day trip out of going to see them.
My favorite holiday treat is my mother's french toast. It is a real treat for her to make it. We usually have it the morning after Christmas.

I'm finally at a point where I can give thanks for this. I'm thankful that even though my sons father and I have divorced and my son is not with me all the time, I'm thankful that he has two parents that adore and love him. He's always in my heart no matter where he is.

As always I am thankful for my Mom and my daughter.
My grandmother who passed away many years ago made 2 stuffings. One a typical bread stuffing but the other was amazing..a meat and potato stuffing that I have never seen anywhere else. Thannkfully I do know the ingredients but still it's not the same as when she made it.
I am thankful that I have 5 healthy children - my husband is off work for a year, and challenges lie ahead - but we are thanful for the trials!!!!!!!!!
